At what age should you bring home a Labradoodle or Goldendoodle puppy?
Most vets recommend bringing a puppy home anywhere from 8 weeks to 12 weeks of age. Often if the puppy is smaller (maybe a mini Goldendoodle or mini Labradoodle) you should wait more than 8 weeks before bringing it home as it will be quite small.
Don’t use a breeder that sends a Labradoodle or Goldendoodle puppy home before 8 weeks of age.
Remember the basic rule of thumb that a dog can comfortably hold its need to relieve itself half the number of hours compared to the number of weeks old it is. So a 6 week old puppy needs to relieve itself every 3 hours, an 8 week old puppy needs to go every 4 hours, a 10 week old puppy needs to go every 5 hours, etc.
